ABOUT DOUGLAS COLEMAN
Douglas Coleman as General Counsel of Smart Start Real Estate Corp., operator of Regentology.com. Doug serves on the company’s executive team and advises on all legal matters, including corporate governance, intellectual property, litigation, and compliance. Doug joined Regentology in 2022, after 37 years of private practice at his law firm.
Doug is an experienced trial lawyer concentrating on real estate, business and commercial litigation, contract disputes, employment law and non-competes, and product liability.
Doug’s personal interests include cider-making, cider apples, and the revitalization of Virginia’s cider industry. He is also interested in local and Civil War history and hopes to have a book out on Alexandria in the Civil War in the next couple of years.
Doug earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Anthropology from the University of Virginia and a law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.
